Police Decoy Level 1

Service Description

Demanet Academy Police Decoy Level 1 teaches basic movements, drills, and theory to expand the knowledge and skill set of police decoys. Students will will be able to safely and effectively work as a decoy for police canine units, and demonstrate proper techniques for engaging with police canines during training exercises. This includes maintaining safety for dog and decoy, and understanding canine behavior in the form of prey and defensive drives. Students will utilize appropriate protective equipment, and have knowledge of how to use the equipment. - 3 Day Course (24 hours) - Classroom Theory - Prey and Defense - Drive Isolation - Drive Channeling - Equipment - Sleeve Presentation - Absorbing the dog - Back Tie Bite Work - Table Bite Work - Open Field Sends - Introduction to Bite Suit - Bite Suit Targeting - Primary vs Secondary Targets - Grip Development - Common Problem Solving - Promoting Confidence in the Dog - Introduction to Muzzle Fighting - Muzzle Fighting Drills and Techniques
